Manufacturers have vital role to play to support the hospitality sector’s ‘new normal’

With lockdown restrictions easing and hotels reopening, the manufacturing sector has a vital role to play to ensure it is supporting the hospitality industry with the right products and services to help them adapt to the ‘new normal’.
According to WernerCo, the global leader in ladders and access equipment, the supply chain has a key responsibility to ensure the hospitality sector has access to solutions that enable them to carry out their work effectively and safely in line with the latest Government guidelines on hygiene and social distancing.
Sophie Ellam, BoSS® Product Manager at WernerCo, said: “The hospitality industry has been amongst the worst hit by the outbreak of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown.
“Whilst lockdown provided many hotel facilities teams with the chance to carry out essential work, maintenance managers are having to adapt the way their teams operate around customers now that businesses have begun to reopen. As such, it’s important to consider how this work will be carried out under the new Government guidelines.”
As part of its commitment to raise the health and safety standards, WernerCo’s BoSS range offers several solutions that can be used to safeguard employees and customers on-site and in line with the Government’s social distancing guidance.
The BoSS SOLO700 access tower for example is a one-person tower that is designed to be built and dismantled by one person, rather than two as required by most standard towers, making it ideal for adhering to social distancing guidelines in the workplace. Available with safe working heights between 3.2m and 5.2m, the solution is quick and easy to assemble, with the access tower base unit also forming a trolley to simplify transportation whilst working alone.
Another solution, ideal for single person operation, is the BoSS X3X – a micro-scissor lift. Designed for indoor access, it can be used for a wide range of tasks from cleaning and general maintenance, to facilities management, construction and painting and decorating.
Compact and highly manoeuvrable, the BoSS X3X is fitted with a host of safety features and help improve productivity compared to towers as no pre-build or set up is required. The machines can pass easily through standard doorways and moved from floor to floor in multi-storey buildings via a passenger lift.
